what behavior do 80211.g clients exhibit when a repeater AP is present? does its signal strength to the root have to completely disappear before it will start using the repeater?

I have set up two Cisco Aironet 1100 APs, one as root, one as repeater. The client will not give up its connection to the root, even though the signal strength displays as being minimal.

fyi, I've used intermec hand-helds and a dell laptop with a cisco aironet card as clients. All act the same.

thanks,

Zane

thanks for the response. I was unable to find out how to adjust the APs density values. Any idea how to do that on a Cisco Aironet 1100? Cisco.com wasn't helpful.

thanks,

Zane
