Does anyone know of a "Wireless Central office"? This in would offer dial tone just like a regular central office along with all the features and services but it would be a completely wireless connection to the customers site.

For example a device would be mounted in the telephone room and would receive dial tone via cell or some other wireless signal and then could be used like normal POTS lines, hunting etc.. Just no copper or cable feeds into the building. you would get individual telephone numbers or a PRI circuit etc. and could route them into a PBX or key system like normal.

Just use wireless data/internet provider and put SIP across it.

I am new to the whole SIP thing. Do you have a link that would explain what it is and how it is used for a traditional Key System or PBX environment.

thanks

What type of phone system do you currently have? Many systems offer wireless phones integrated with your regular network/wireless hubs, or you could even consider using regular wireless "home" phones on an existing analog line.

Check with your local wireless data providers. They should be able to offer you some info of whats available in your area.
