Hello Guys,

We are trying to configure the unit to work with DHCP. We see that the phone is able to pull an IP, but we get No AVPP response 049.048.046.049 on the handset.
We configured the AVPP on our network and added the DHCP option for the device.
We have no issues if we assign the IPs statically to the phone, it is only when it tries to connect with DHCP that we have the issue.
I've noticed that the phone is trying to call slnk_cfg.cfg before it hands out No AVPP response.

Any ideas???

Thanks for the help!!

Which DHCP option number have you configured to push out the AVPP address? I've always used option 151. If that isn't there, the phone does a DNS lookup for SLNKSVP2. If that doesn't exist, then you'll get no AVPP response.

biv343 - Yes, I have configured the DHCP option 151 and created a DNS record for SLNKSVP2. Any other ideas??
Thanks

mforrence - I thought but my supervisor would like for it to work with DHCP.
Thanks

Does anyone know the string for DHCP option 151. After research, looks like the issue may be the DHCP option. I entered the IP for the option, but apparently you can also use a string.
Does anyone know the string format?

Thanks

Hello Guys,

I am still trying to get a 3645 phone to connect to register with IPO using DHCP. I configured the DHCP options on the DNS server, but when I power on the phone I still get "No AVPP Response". It connects fine when I assigned the IP's statically.
I also updated the firmware on both the phone and AVPP to the latest version.
Any ideas what it can be???

Thanks for the help!!

go with static and just tell the boss it's all set, he will never know the better!

I would like to but we need this to work for large deployments. Any ideas what it can be???

I know that we have several running using DHCP and they work fine. We have separate SSID/VLAN on IPO voice network. IPO acts as DHCP server. Wasn't too hateful to configure.

Hmm.. Well we are running a flat network. For our customers, we normally VLAN the environment. Do you think that having everything on the same network can be causing the problem??

Thanks Mforrence!

Also DHCP is running on our Windows server. We added the DHCP options for the AVPP. I did try using the IPO, but I noticed in System status the device was showing “Unsupported Classmark” .

Any ideas????

Forgot to add that I was not able to dial out or extension to extension.

Hello Guys,

I was able to finally get the phone to work. I enabled DHCP on IPO and it registered to IPO and AVPP. I had to enable IP Office on the handset and that resolved the "Unsupported Classmark" in system status.
My only problem is that we would like to have Windows as the DHCP server in an event that there is a remote location with no IPO on site. Looks like our DHCP option for the AVPP is wrong on our Windows Server. We tried setting it as a string and IP with no luck.

Has anyone configured this successfully and can you please provide an example of the DHCP option for the AVPP for a Windows Server?

Thanks!!!!
