I have a G3 that I would like to remove from use and wipe the HDD entirely - clearing off any installed software + the OS.

Any idea how I do this? OS9 and OSX are both installed on the one disk.

Boot from a system install CD, open the utilities folder and reformat the drive.

If you are extra-phobic about files remaining even after a drive format, you will need to seek an additional utility. Check out versiontracker.com for a secure wiping utility.

Thanks - worked a treat.

My Mac knowledge is improving slowly....
