Hi,

weird problem occured:

I have a Win XP pc, with shared adsl. The other computer has Win 98 SE and is connected to the XP pc via standard 10 mbps ethernet. I have installed TCP/IP and Netbeui protocols. Computers "see" eachother and file exchange works great. Problem is, that win 98 pc cannot access some http-addresses. Others work just fine and weirdly the "inaccessible" addresses work fine from the Xp pc. What could be wrong. I have checked network settings, turned the firewall on and off, but no avail. I have also tried Netscape and IE. Any clues?

Sounds like you are using Internet Connection Sharing on the XP machine. How do you have the Win98 set up? Is it DHCP with the XP machine acting as the DHCP server? Did you configure the Win98 machine to get the DNS server address by way of DHCP?

This link
provides a great deal of assistance in troubleshooting issues such as you described.

Hope that helps.
