Hello i have WinXp on a pc and of course the latest media player installed. I have been trying to play some AVI clips on the pc but cant seem to get it going. It only shows me the visualizations and i can hear the sound but i cant see the picture. I have installed the latest DIVX software on the pc and i have also downloaded some Codecs from the internet for the media player but i cant seem to get it going. Is there any other programs that allows you to play avi movies (like another codec) that anyone knows about? Thanks

One set of codecs that includes almost everything is the nimo pack. You just need to look it up on google, download and install the nimo codec pack and hopefully that will help with your problem.

that is one place to get them. But just remember as it stats on their page do not install the G400 codec if you do not have a nimo codec!

hope this helps

Follow this:

1) Uninstall WMP and all DIVX codecs
2) Reboot
3) Install WMP 7.1
4) Reboot
5) Install DIVX Codecs (4.x or higher)
6) Install WMP Codec Download Package (choose upgrade components and do not reinstall them)

You can find the WMP Codecs (step 6) at:

For "Select Download", choose "Codecs Download Package". Doing this will refresh the screen and give you the option below to "Download Now". It's less than 1MB and you may have to reboot after installing it...
