Corsair XMS (2 X 512) DDR400 memory
Soyo 9 in 1 card reader writer
550 watt power supply
Dell 20" flat panel monitor DVI
all latest WinXP updates and nvidia drivers

My system boots to the splash screen then hangs before the monitor displays. If I hit reset one or two time the video card starts and the system runs fine.

The system boots fine in safe mode and starts okay with a cheaper video card.

Any ideas?

I have had the same thing on many motherboards using the dual 400 ram in slots 1 and 3.

Just try this for kicks and giggles.

swap around chips 1 and 3, thats it.

It that does not work, try taking out chip 3 (in the 3rd slot that is, atleast they should be in slots 1 and 3)and just boot with one chip in.

I have had success everytime doing that method.
