The question about whether XP can be an Oracle server arose. My LAN guy says he cannot find any doc that says there are limits to the number of logons to an XP professional box. I understand that WinNT workstation has a builtin limit of 10, so NT Server has to be used to allow more than 10 to connect to an ORacle db. If XP has no limits, does that mean an unlimited number of connections can be made to Ora9i database on an XP professional machine? Does this mean there is an advantage in licensing an XP machine to run a Oracle db instead of a Win2000 server license or an NT server license?
