How do I place a picture in a word document but set it up so that it will not be visible when I print? TIA!!!

You will have to place it NOT float over text (Office 97) or it will have to placed in line with text (Office 2000). Then select the picture, hit Format-Font and select hidden. Make sure you Tools-Options-Print tab is NOT printing hidden text.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it. But when I follow the directions you just gave me it hides the omage on the screen as well. Any other suggestions? TIA...again!

Thanks that worked but there is a problem, it shows all charecters. I am trying to build a living document that can be easily used electronically. I am using bookmarks and hyperlinks to send the user where they want to go from the Table of Contents. At the end of the sections I have an image that sends the user back to the TOC. However, when I need to print this document I can't have the images. The show/hide allows me to see all hidden charecters. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help I really appreciate it!!!
