I am having a great deal of difficulty determining a problems on several fronts. one) When going into word 2000, I get a general protection fault in module hHPFWIN12.DLL, two) While trying to access Adobe photo deluxe, a get a PD2.DLL ERROR, three) when trying to print, I get a error message with a HPFTBX12, and four0 when trying to go to MS/WORKS, I get a performed illegal operations error.

Unfortunately, I have a Gateway machine, without full version of windows 98, so setup seems to be out of the question, since they do not include the cabs files in the setup. Is there any steps I can take to try and filter out the problems. thanks for any tips. Going crazy with this and my wife is not making any easier on me.

try updating your video drivers. go into control panel, system, device manager to get the model of your video card. then go to and click on basic search, then the letter of the company whom make your card ( A for ATI etc )
when you get a crash is it with only that program open ? if you have a few applications open you may be running low on resources which could also cause the bother. may even be a hardware issue.
