WINWORD General Protection Error

Help!

I have been trying to use Technet to help me solve this problem.

One of our users was in Word 2000, she tried to copy and paste a line of text and received the following Illegal Error:

WINWORD caused a general protection fault in module GDI.EXE at 0008.00003cb0

Can anyone offer adice?

Ask your user to check the mskb article:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q220/4/60.ASP

and verify her gdi.exe version and compare with the info after a fix for download which would be :
Gdi.exe , 4.10.2000 , 9/20/99 4:02:50p , 345,648

If you are using win98, download a fix from the lead there. (MS asserts that win98se should not have this problem.)
