Winword.exe error

My users are getting a winword.exe error when opening documents. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this? I seem to remember that this happened once before and it might have been Qnotes.exe?? Any help is appreciated.

Look inside Notes and select the menu options file > preferences > user preferences. Select mail & news on the left hand side. Is alternate memo editor set to Word? If so, Change it to "none". Hope this helps.
