Is anyone aware of any security risks associated with the use of Wyse Winterms (and other thin-client boxes)? I ask because one of our client companies had a third-party security assessment scan performed and the WinTerms all flagged with SMB Null session and SNMP vulnerabilities. I know that Wyse uses SNMP as a means to allow an admin to manage centrally all the WinTerms but is there any real security risk with being able to read the MIB from a thin client? Similar questions regarding the SMB null session hit on a WinTerm.
I have been unable to locate any information that would give me more detail on the security risks/vulnerabilities on a WinTerm so any feedback would be appreciated.
