Is anyone familiar with Data collection via Wintelligent linx dde to Microsoft odbc? I need to collect data from an Allan Bradley PLC 5/40 with Wintelligent Linx via DDE and send it to a MS Access 2000 Database with ODBC Linked Tables from My MS SQL Server 2000.

Bizzare to be sure but I will appreciate any and all wisdom passed on to me.

Many Thanks in Advance.

Here's some simple examples:

Use Excel, create a DDE link in a cell.
Create a timer in code to examine the contents of the cell, then send the data via ADO.

or

Use Access or VB6. create some VB DDE code which is available from Rockwell's knowledgebase.
Use ADO to send the data

or

go out and by RSSql, or Data Exchange, or lots of other "off the shelf" products and spend thousands of dollars.
