I have a client that is using a terminal server session on Mac to connect to PC/server running Winspm.
According to client this has always worked without issue.
Now the following error is given and programming issues occur: WINSPM HAS DETECTED AN UNKNOWN COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM. CORRECT BEHAVIOR CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.

The application 'Virtual PC' runs Windoz software on Power MACs, even SPM and WINSPM. That's what I've been using since I started taking care of a couple of Legends a few years ago.

VPC works great on my setup!

Well, from my old job, when I had to talk to the Bell Lab folks who supported the Legend/Magix, SPM & WINSPM were never intended to work on the MAC platform.

Of course, you are using an emulator. But either way, you would be on your own.

There was a version of SPM that worked on a REAL Unix platform, but that was loaded on to an AUDIX Voice Mail System. (AND - it was the SPM Version only).

You might just ask INTERACTIVE NORTWEST about it, but they will probably tell you what I said.

Good luck.

"using a terminal server session on Mac to connect to PC/server running Winspm."

Sounds like the WinSPM is running on a PC, and the Mac is doing a type of remote desktop to control it.

The thing that WinSPM is doing (while running on the PC) is: "WINSPM HAS DETECTED AN UNKNOWN COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM. CORRECT BEHAVIOR CANNOT BE GUARANTEED."

So the question is what has WinSPM detected?

Something in Windoz prabably hicupped or got corrupted, you might try re-installing WINSPM on that PC. But before you do, I would save or backup any of the files that have user config stuff for the systems you work on so you don't have to start from scratch.

One last thing what version is your WINSPM? You can update to newer versions that can be downloaded from support.avaya.com if needed.

Hope this helps!

For the Avaya software download, do you need a number for all downloads? I'm looking for the latest version windows SPM. I recently changed laptops and cannot find our windows version SPM. I have the 6.25 DOS version SPM, but need to get into higher version systems for conversions, etc. Or is there any other resource for this software?

Check previous posts under "WinSPM" - you will find what you need to acquire the software.
