WINSPM TAPI Box/Modem Connect Issue

Just got a new PC (Dell with WN XP). Downloaded WINSPM version 8 which I had on old PC (WN2000). When I try to connect (using manual assist), I get a TAPI box requesting I select how I want to connect. There are no options to connect through a regular analog modem. No matter what option in the box I click on, it does not want to connect to my modem. Modem does work since I have other applications going through modem that have tested good.
How do I get rid of this TAPI box or how do I configure my PC to add another line in the TAPI box for connection? I don't recall ever having this issue as I have downloaded the patches up to 8 on other PCs in the past. I also uninstalled application and reinstalled to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.

When you say, "TAPI BOX", I think you are talking about the "CONFIGURE TAPI" box.

Of that's the case, then you should be able to scroll down and select your modem, and then it will walk you through configuring the modem settings to work with WINSPM.

I have ALWAYS had to do this on installation of the software, and/or a different modem.

You may want to revisit the TAPI parms by first choosing "Settings", then "Configure TAPI...(Modems)" from the WinSPM menu.
