winspm problem

Hello all, when I try to connect to a R3 remotely via a PRI and remote access barrier code I start to get spanish on the screen. Also the machine tries to do restores and backups on its own. This also has happened to me while on site using T/R port. I have two sites this is happening to, both are R3/WinSpm R8 combos. Anyone else getting this?

I guess you got under the radar, I don't recall seeing this earlier.

That being said,

It sounds like you are getting SEVERE line hits on the line you are using to access the system thru SPM.

Do the users ever complain of noise or static?

(I bet they do!)

Perhaps you can find a different line or pool you can dial in to.

 
I've got about 3 sites that do this, also change to French instead of Spanish.

I've tried different lines to dial out on, different modems, and different lines into the customer. Some are PRI, some are POTS lines.

The latest one, I could connect via modem on a T/R port on site, but not remotely.

Maybe a bug in the SPM?
 
No bug in SPM that I know of.

I have some sites that are iffy at best dialing in.

Maybe the trouble is at your end with your phone line.

I have also experienced the CRAZY things that happen with line hits, Changing from one Lingo to another, STARTING TO DO A RESTORE, right in the middle of me changing a ton of stuff.

I chalk it all up to LINE HITS.
