When I dial into a site, WinSPM just hangs after I've dialed and connected. I checked the time sync and it's unchecked. Not sure what's going on. Any thoughts?

When first dialing, and the modem answers, don't connect just yet. There will be a period of 5 seconds or so, then the modem will change pitch. At that time, connect.

It didn't work. Anything else that I can be doing wrong. It will dial and connect, but that's all it does. It doesn't bring up the password screen at all. Thanks though.

What Release Legend are you connecting to and what release Winspm are you using?

That didn't help. I was wondering if it was a R2 or R1 becuase you need the DOS version on winspm to connect to those properly.

Can you do a direct connect?

Nope, I'm several miles away. I just started here and they have asked me to help administor about 20 of these. Problem is, I can't get the software to work. I tried to uninstall and put it back on, but that didn't help plus I have to imput all the sites back in since copying the site data back in didn't work.

Just getting a little frustrated with it. :)

Try another PC, sometimes the modem can be goofy.

You're going to need WinSPM Release 8 to connect to a Magix R3. Get the update at , look under communications systems, Magix, software downloads.

Normally, you can connect to any release of Magix with any release of WinSPM, with only the convert utility being an issue if you don't have the latest release, BUT, there are definatly issues with WinSPM R7 for and Magix R3

Perhaps you could ask one of us to try to log in just as a test.....

Pepp is on about the modem. It can make all the difference in the world. Also, check your modem port settings. Although it should be able to step down the baud rate without any issues, setting it to a default of 2400 may help.

Another thing, are you dialing a direct number for Remote Access or doing an operator assisted call.
