Until last Friday, I was able to connect to my Magix system through winspm through a modem connected to a port on a 016 T/R card. For some reason, it doesn't seem to work now. You can here the modem dial and seemingly connect. Then it prompts you for the password (so far, so good). Once you enter the password and hit enter, winspm hangs. The activity "lights" (next to the abort button) don't flash and you can't press the abort button. I've let it sit there for hours, and it never unlocks. Any ideas of things to try?

I would go to the Main Console, go into MAINTENANCE, and RESET THE MODEM (Under Ports).

It's worth a shot!

Your other alternative is to connect directly to the processor through the "admin" port - but you need a 355 AF adapter and then a DB9 to DB25 converter. In WinSPM you have the cjoice to connect either way.

Reset the modem and then the next time you enter the password do not press enter. Click on OK. The system sees the "enter" as another character in the password.
