winsplash32 error

My computer hangs up when shutting down and a box appears that says "winsplash32.exe" and it just sits there until I manually shut my computer down. I have googled it and can find nothing. Can anyone help me.

In Control Panel/ Folder Options, set the View to Show Hidden and System files and do a Search for this non-Windows file and see where it is lurking.

Possibly you have a piece of Malware on your machine.

Try in Safe Mode, or in Normal Mode, but as a different user and see if you still have the problem.
