What exactly does the use of winsock proxy clent do for me? If I uncheck use winsock proxy does that make my clients vulnerable to any attacks? Is the client still utilizing the Proxy if I uncheck this item?

Thanks

Hey,,

Proxy client allows you to connect to other ports which without the proxy you would not be able to connect to.

for ex: FTP port, telnet port. in our current setup if you did not have the Proxy client you would not be able to use FTP or Telnet outside of our network.( connecting to a remote server) Those ports are locked unless you have the proxy client installed.

Without the proxy you can still browse the net. Port 80 is always open and you dont need a proxy client to browse the internet.

Just my 2 Cents.

Thanks,
TecGuy.
