winsock && dealing with websites

I need help in trying to interact with a website. I want to be able to have my program go to a website and download a program from that website. For example: winamp. I would like my program to interact with the website and download the program. I also wondering how to interact with buttons and forums and stuff like that. I heard to use internet controls but I am not sure where to get the information..

Any suggesstions..
