Well, here we go.

I have a WAN, across a FrameRelay service, I have 3 servers, one runs MS SQL, another one runs Terminal Services and is the domain controller, and the last one runs only Windows 2000 Server.

Well, I have a 3810 router in the main site and 1750 in the satellite sites, every satellite site is a LAN. All my users are autenticated in the Terminal Services server. The first two weeks every thing went fine, but, a week ago, some users started to dissappear from the network. Today every LAN can see just their users, and the only thing that everybody can see is the Terminal Server.

I use WINS, and I have Win98 and Win2k PC's.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Do you have a WINS server in each site (is push pull replication working) or just one (can all of the clients get to the WINS server)? Are you using DHCP and more importantly are the clients and servers pointed to the WINS server so that they register themselves and query for addresses. Just some thoughts to start with......

I have just one WINS server, I am using DHCP only in the main site, and every PC is pointed to the WINS server, if I take a look at the WINS Active Registrations, evey user appear there.

Are you generating errors in the event viewer on the WINS server or on the clients? Is anything in your WINS statistics abnormal? Have you changed anything on the router in the past 2 weeks? What server is serving WINS?

I don´t have errors in the log, every thing looks normal, I haven´t change anything in Routers, my Terminal Services Server located in the main site is serving WINS. :(

If I were you I would install at least one DC (w2k) in each site, use Dns (ad relies on dns). You can probably do away with wins, if so, through it out the window. If not use it only were necessary. You dont need wins for Win 98 clients.

Could you tell me what hub or switch you are using at those location that is missing on the network ??

Hung

i had the same problem when i was using HP VG hub and cheap dlink hub, i got rid off them and everything went fine

i would reboot those switches and reboot the server, then reboot the workstations after the servers and switches and routers are up

I have only CISCO equipment, so I think that's not the problem. but, anyway.

Thanks everybody.
