Our primary WINS server has been flaking lately. I think it is because the server has bound itself to a temporary IP used during the initial install (the box has 3 NIC's so we gave 2 of them bogus IP's).
Every time I open WINS manager on that machine, the bogus IP shows up with the other legit WINS servers. I delete the server IP everywhere I can, but it keeps reappearing upon a refresh. I have deleted any entry in the registry with that IP address, but it will not go away. Unfortunately I think it is causing headaches with the network in general, but I can't find anything on how it got there or how to get rid of it.
Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks
