Hello,
I have a remote office connected via VPN. I have the users configured with the internal WINS server settings for this office. I can see that the remote office computers have registered with the WINS servers, but those users are unable to browse this network. I have a domain setup here and the remote users are a workgroup, but the same workgroup as this domain. The remote users can connect to drives here by "searching" for computer, but just not browsing. I have host files setup as well.
Have I missed something here? This is all W2K server and W2K clients.
Thanks

Here is an update, hopefully someone has done or seen this before. In one remote office, they are all W98 machines. The other remote office are all W2K pro machines. After I statically entered the WINS info on all clients across the VPN, the W98 clients and now "broswe", but the W2K pro machines cannot. And here on the LAN, which are all W2K pro machines, we cannot see the W98 machines over the VPN that can see us. And, all clients, local and VPN tunnel have registered with the WINS server.
Is this some W98 and W2K pro WINS, VPN issue, bug....

is this a PPTP vpn? Does the remote site have a trusted domain?

I think what you need to do if the tunnel is PPTP is have TWO tunnels - one hosted at each end.
