Hiya,
I am trying to create a trust between 2 remote Domains, connected by an IPSEC wan link. I can ping the remote PDC, and scan it, i can see port 42 (WINS) running on it (yes the PDC is also running WINS). But when i try the trust, it gives "The Domain Controller cannot be found".

So, I need to get their WINS registering on my domain? Do I do a static "DOMAIN" entry on my WINS server, add it to LMHOSTS on my WINS server or PDC or both?

Or do i set my wins server up to use their wins server?

Ugh, can anyone help?

thanks,
Ben

I would
1. add the domains to both WINS servers
2. point each DC to use the other WINS server

If that doesn't work, also you can use a LMHOSTS file..., but I'm very confident that it will work using WINS
