What keeps happening is everyday the people on our Windows NT network have trouble either logging on to the network or getting certain resources, like printing from the printserver or getting into their email (which is Lotus Notes R5). The only solution that we know about that will fix it is to do a ipconfig /release at the dos prompt of the machine having trouble and then ipconfig /renew their DHCP lease. The DHCP leases are set to expire in 30 days. There has to be a reason why this keeps happening, and their should be a solution other than doing it the hard way by going to each machine and releasing and renewing their lease. If anyone has any experience with this problem please let me know. I appreciate it.

When you do the release and renew is the client getting the same IP address or a different one?

Are any of the computers laptops that move around to different networks/subnets?

Any similarities on where the problem units are...i.e. subnet location, a particular office, a particular switch/hub?

Everything is basically the same on the network, no laptops move around and I'm not sure that when I renew the lease it gets the same IP or not. But what could be the cause of the problem, it happens everyday basically and everything on the network is set correctly as far as I know. Any help would be helpful. Thanks for responding to!
