Hello,

I have been having intermittent problems with clients on my internal LAN losing connectivity to the Internet but still able to access internal servers. I have had a though in the back of my head that the problem most likely has to do with my WINS server which has a high degree of failed queries. Could NT machine SIDS which are identical cause a problem on my network that has nothing to do with WINS? I usually ghost all my new machines coming in and I forgot about using GHOSTWALKER to change their SIDS after the ghost process is done...

Does this make any sense?

Thanks in advance.

WINS resolution shoudn't have anything to do with the SID. Look at your WINS database - do your clients seem to be registering OK? Also, for your Internet connectivity are you using an external DNS provider (WINS doesn't even come into play for the I-Net)? All clients properly pointed to the default gateway (router/firewall address)?

Just a few thoughts...
