I have this very annoying problem using winroute and mIRC. I have winroute setup on the server machine and I wish to use mIRC on a client computer. I can connect to mIRC fine, but I always get disconnected every hour from whatever server I am on at that time. In winroute I have narrowed this problem down to Settings/Advanced/Misc Options/TCP inactivity timeout
At the moment it is set to 60 minutes (thus my disconnection every hour) however this is as high as it will go, and if I set it to 0 I can't connect to any of the servers in mIRC. I also cannot see an option anywhere to disable this function. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Another problem I am having with mIRC and indeed all the chat programs (MSN, ICQ) is the inability to send files. I can receive files fine, but I cannot send anything. The files seem to get blocked by my firewall (winroute?) I am under the impression I have to map ports in winroute to be able to send files in mIRC, MSN but I have tried and not been successful. If anyone could please tell me/point me to a page on what ports I should be mapping to allow outgoing files, it would be great, thankyou.
Hoping that someone here can help me fix these problems, thanks.
