I have a PC with 2 partitions, XP is installed on the first, nothing on the second.
I want to put WinPE on the second partition and be able to boot between the two. I understand I'll have to replace the XP boot mechanism with the Vista Bootloader which comes with the version of WinPE I'm using (2.x).
So I've followed the instructions found here...
Okay, I had to tweak it slightly as I don't want to use Windows PE 2.x and Windows XP together, I need them on separate partitions. So I altered the Active partition using Diskpart to be the WinPE one.
I implemented the steps above and I can now boot to my WinPE partition.
PROBLEM: When I book to my XP box I get the error "Invalid BOOT.INI file Booting from C:\Windows\ NTDETECT failed"
I've looked at the BOOT.INI and pointed it to the correct partition but no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks
