I have a Windows 2000 PDC with several clients connected to it, windows2000, XP and XPSP1. I am also running a samba server on the network 2.2.7a. The windows2000 and XP clients can connect to Samba without any problems but the only way the XP SP1 client can connect is if I use the ip address in windows explorer ie \\10.0.0.5\mydirectory. If I use \\samba\mydirectory I get the following error:
\\samba\mydirectory is not accessible. You might not have permission to use the network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
Configuration information could not be read from the domain controller, either becuase the machine is unavailable, or access has been denied.
The XP SP1 cleint used to be able to access Samba before it was updated to SP1.
Any ideas?
