Winnt register with DNS Server

Hi,

I am trying to get a Winnt 4 machine to register with the DNS Server using DHCP. The Client PTR Record is being updated but not the Host A record. From what i can gather, DHCP is able to do this but i just can't get it working.
I have checked the DHCP Server to register clients that do not support dynamic updates. The DNS Server is set to only allow secure updates, is this OK.

Change your DNS server to "yes" for "allow dynamic updates".

I am also having this problem. I also know that changing DNS configuration to yes for dynamic updating does not cure it

Make the DHCP server a member of the Dnsupdateproxy group and see if that makes a difference.

How exactly do you go about that please?

Open AD Users and Computers
Right click the Domain, left click find
Dnsproxyupdate in the search box
Once found add the computer to the group

check the dns suffix, which assigned manually or through gpo, on the NT4 box
