I have a Compaq PC with an on board sound card. I have a software package designed for voice recognition that requires a sound blaster setup using the windows NT "Creative Labs Sound Blaster 1.X Pro, 16" driver (not Plug and Play)<br>I disabled the onboard sound card in the BIOS and removed it from multimedia. After a reboot I setup the SB16 WinNt driver. When I click ok the "sound blaster base I/O address box comes up with I/O address selected. I press the continue button the test the port address but I get the error message " The sound card cannot be fopund with this port number. check your settings and try agian."<br>I try it with each available port address and get the same message. I went into Windows Nt Diagnostics to see if the I/O address was being use by anything but it was not. It will not allow me to change any other resources until I select the correct I/O address. I would appreciate any help I can get.
