WINN2K in NT DOMAIN

I have 4 server NT Domain with one PDC and one BDC. I have recently installed WINN2K as a stand alone server w/o AD in this DOMAIN running SQL2000. Is there a way to make a local account on WINN2K as a member of NT Domain account. I have a problem connecting to the SQL2000 from my SQL7.0 client unless I create a local account on the WINN2k then use that password. Can some please explain to me how I can make a better use of this server on NT DOMAIN without installing active Directory.
