I have a dual boot one HDD but on seperate partitions.
C:winme D:XPpro. I would like to take off the winme section and free up space and go soley XP....

XP's boot loading files will be in the root of your "C" Drive, (namely Boot.ini, Ntdtect.com, and Ntdlr). These are usually hidden and system files. Anything done to "C" will effect the booting of XP. There are ways around this depending on what you want to achieve.

What do you want your hard drive setup to become? One or two partitions?
