winmail.dat

I have suddenly started getting complaints about my file attachments being called "winmail.dat". I am also getting complaints about having an attachment called this when in fact I did not attach anything - it was just a text message. What is cuasing this and how can I fix it? Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
