hello all,

Just recently, several of our Win2k3 member servers (SP1 installed) have had this issue ... winlogon.exe is suddenly taking up lots of memory. One of our servers is at 1.5GB just for that process.

I've tried googling around but I can't seem to find much.

Anyone have any experience with this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Very wierd but I just figured out a fix/hack.

Looks like there is some sort of bug with regard to Terminal Services in SP1.

Winlogon.exe just keeps hogging up memory (or rather, it doesn't release it) everytime we log in and out of the box.

The way to clear it is to log into the console but that isn't very convinent considering our datacenter is a ways away ...

However - you can emulate it buy opening up a command box on your workstation and typing:

mstsc /console
and then logging in as usual - that will clear out all the processes memory!
