hi this is driving me nuts. Everytime I boot my computer winlogon.exe trys emailing itself over and over. Norton keeps coming up with a virus warning. I have downloaded all the latest virus defs and run a complete scan and it does not find anything. Winlogon.exe also uses 80% of processor power when it is doing this. After I finnaly close all the quarnite windows the computer runs fine. please help

You probably have this figured out by now. Most likely you have the W32Netsky virus, this happens to be one of its traits. You can download the Netsky removal tool at . You will also find the instructions there.

I found the best way to kill this thing is to download the removal tool to a folder, so for example make c:\virustools. Save the tool there. Boot to safe mode, then run the tool.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
