Does anyone know how to get rid of the winfixer virus. I tried editing the registry via Norton Antivirus directions, but I could not find any of the many values in the registry they mentioned. Thanks in advance,

Download ewido from the link below. Do a full system scan with it. When your done download hijack this. Extract to desktop or prefered folder. Open it, choose do a system scan and save a logfile and post the logfile on here. Unless you know what your doing dont attempt to fix anything as most items are legit.

Please download to your desktop.
· Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
· Click the Scan for Vundo button.
· Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
· You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
· Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
· When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
· Turn your computer back on.


· Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

I ran the Vundo application, it did a scan and I hit the remove button, but I didn't get asked to save the log file. It just proceeded and automatically shutdown.

Your log is clean but this needs to be removed.

check box and click fix checked.

Id also reccomend emptying all temp folders.

you shouldn't fix the 08s, 09s and 018s as hijack this is erroneously reporting that these are missing when in fact they are not!
