Hi
I ve log output from Winfiol from Serial connection.. Is it possible to divide logs into i.e. 5 MB files.
I mean when a logfile reaches to 5 Mb, it 'll write it to a new log file on same directory..
Is it possible to do it with Winfiol 5.2?
Rgrds.

Hi,

No I don't think you can... but you can create a daily log file... (Channel Properties\ Links) or you could attempt to use DDE from WinFiol to another DDE App and have that app do the 5M work via a macro... E.g. Excel, but that's too much work.

Hi Isinor,
By using daily log file, how is it possible?
My problem is, i need monthly data but the log file is so much big (15Mb/day) So i can not import this data for monthly usage..(It will be ~450 Mb size after a month)

so my question is, will daily log file be written to different files on second day or will it be uploaded to same file on the 2nd day?
Rgrds

Hi,

A new file for each day created at 0000 Hrs. WinFiol creates a file using the date and the channel as part of the file name... e.g. YYYYMMDD#1.LOG

To Set it up...
1. Open a channel
2. Choose the menu 'Channel then Properties'
3. Select 'Links'
4. Enable 'Daily Log'

Files are saved in the directory/folder set via...
1. Choose Options, Preferences.
2. Select, Directories, Log Files
