I'm trying to install WinXP onto a drive through an Adaptec 1200A. Text mode setup doesn't see the controler. The computer doesn't have a floppy drive.
The solution given to me was to make a bootdisk that will boot the computer with access to the CDROM drive. This is done with the thought that that CDROM image will be mounted as the A: drive.
The problem with this is that when I go to r:\i386\winnt.exe I get an error that:
An internal setup error has occurred.
Could not find a place for a swap file
Setup cannot continue. Press Enter to exit.
Any ideas? What does my bootdisk have to do to let me install XP?
Thanks
Mike
