I am using a registry entry to force our users to the company WebPage. This seems to work pretty well, except.......... At various times when you start IE, it will go directly to instead of the home page I set. If I click on HOME, it goes directly to the company page as it should. It will do this 2 times in a row, then whenever I start IE, it goes to the proper home page.

I am actually doing two registry changes: 1) for home page changes, and 2) for specific settings for a third-party product. (Possibly related to 2 runonce switches ??????)

After working well for a while, it starts the same scenario again. It is driving me (and our users) crazy.

Any help you can offer on how to stop these detours to would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab...under Browsing uncheck Always check for Internet Explorer Updates?

Thanks, just turned off this option. Will watch it today and see what happens. I appreciate your quick response; will let you know if it fixes it.
