Presently running ME on a single partition HD. "Research" seems to indicate best option is to do a clean install of XP Pro. Since I would like to keep all info/data/etc. is there a way to dual boot from ME? I assume I would have to create a second partition to be able to do this. Can I somehow use fdisk to do this or is PartionMagic the way to go? Do both partitions need to be primary? If yes, isn't one "hidden" when the other is active, therefore data on one would not be available on the other?
Or . . . . safe to upgrade ME to XP Pro instead and save all that hassel?

If you want to dual boot you'll need to use partion magic to resize the partion and then install XP pro. Xp Pro will recognize that ME is already present and will give you the option on boot to boot to ME or XP.

I have upgraded ME to XP with no problems also. Just back up any data you want to keep before upgrading to be on the safe side.

You shouldn't have to change which is primary. But the XP Pro partition may or may not be visible in ME. But the ME partition should be visible in XP.

If you make a FAT32 partition for XP then you should be able to see it from ME - if you make a NTFS partition for XP then you won't see it from ME.
