what do i need to take linux off and put windows98 on my computer ?

You need a Format/FDISK utility that can kill the LINUX partition. A win98 FDISK will not delete a LINUX partition. I would suggest getting Partition Magic. It can do this for you and then some. James Collins

Instead of buying something, search for Western Digitals WDCLEAR program...

It can be used to write 0s to the drive, effectively giving you a blank drive.

Please tell me where i can find either WDCLEAR or Partition Magic. Is one of the free? Please tell me for my problem is similar in respects of what i need to accomplish with my hard drive.

Go to the bottom and download the maxllf.zip
This is a Low Level Format Utility that will kill ANY partition on the drive. It was desighned for maxtor drives but will work on all drives. James Collins
