Help! Running Win2K AS Sp2 with ISA. Hit a problem. In the Control Panel the group called 'Network and Dialup Connections' There are no Icons for my network connection or even a create a connection icon isnt there.

I have made a connectiod using the menu i.e File / New Connection, this connectiod doesnt show up in the group. When I look in IE5 Connection Pref there it is. Just not showing up in the 'Network and Dialup Connections' group.

Any help would be great!

Yes, the Lan adapter 'Realtek RTL8029(AS)-Based PCI Ethernet Adapter' also I have one called 'Realtek RTL8029(AS)-Based PCI Ethernet Adapter - Packet Scheduler also Packet Scheduler Miniport #2 also another one of the same name but with #3 and an Unknown device (I think this maybe a a 3Com network card that didnt unistall properly and when I try to uninstall it gives me 'Failed to uninstall the device. The device may be required to boot up the computer'

Hope this helps

Hmmm...Sounds like the messed up 3Com is interferring (we hope). Here's how I would proceed, assuming this is still in a test enviornment, and your haven't gone live yet: Remove the ISA software and reboot. Make sure it's all gone. Then remove all the NIC's I could from Device Manager, shut down and either physically remove them, or disable them in the BIOS if they're on the motherboard. Reboot. Then clean out the registry (careful) of all references to the one you can't remove with Device Manager. Reboot again and make sure it's now gone from Device Manager. Then shut down and reinstall/reactivate the two NICs, bring the system on line and install the latest drivers. Assign IP's and make sure both NIC's are happy, then reinstall ISA software.

If anyone has any other ideas, let's please hear them.

Thanks for the help, as there wasnt very much on the server and it wasnst a mission critical machine. I formated it and installed it all again. I just hope when I install the cable modem / MIC - the NIC will be a 3com 10/100 I just hope I don't run into this same problem again. One odd fault? that has resulted from this new install there are three partions C E F, D being my ZipDrive Internal. I moved the Zip to X but I can't move E to D because its a system drive!. I thought my boot drive C was the system drive. very odd, is there anyway of fixing this?.
