Windows XP vs. Windows Classic Input Box Apperance

Running Windows XP.
When a "class" is assigned to an Input Box, the Input Box displays in Windows Classic mode (it appears "depressed" and more 3D than the Windows XP mode).

Is there a way to keep the Windows XP display when a class is assigned to an Input Box?

AFAIK, as soon as you start applying custom styles to an input box, its style reverts to the old pre-XP style. If you are interested in how different stylings affect input boxes on different browsers and OSes, I suggest you check this:
