Windows XP VPN server

I set up a XP box to host VPN connections. It was working great for a few months. Since then I have not been able to get in. I've tried to replace the router, made sure port 1723 was being forwarded to the box. Re-created the vpn connection. Firewall is off anti-virus off. I even put the box in the DMZ. Nothing will work.

Anyone have a suggestion what it might be?

Do a simple test. Can you telnet port 1723?
