I'm trying to get a laptop (standard ethernet port) onto the Voice Vlan for a bit of network testing.
I can assign a static IP to the laptop, but I can't see away of tagging the packets as being on the Vlan(600).
This causes me problems as the voice subnets require the packets to be tagged with the correct Vlan id.
Is this actually possible. I've searched but nearly everything relates to wireless.

I think it is not linked to the OS but more specifically to the network card and/or drivers...
I've seen some drivers where you can configure:IEEE 802.1Q or VLAN Tagging, or something similar, I've seen others where these settings are not available.

It also means that the switch should use the same protocol...

Check network connections/Properties/configure/advanced
look for "IEEE 802.1Q, VLAN Tagging, ..."
Check on different PC's with different NICs
