I currently have Windows XP on my computer. I was wondering if I installed Windows 2000 (Server) will I loose all my settings and applications installed?

Thanks,

Bianca

Howdy:

In a nutshell.. YES because you will have to format your hdd and install Win2000 on a clean hard-drive.. You can't "downgrade" operating systems and going from XP to 2000 is considered a downgrade..

You CAN install win2K server on a seperate partion on your hdd but afterwards you'll need to repair the XP installation using your XP CD
