Hi,

I am using Wingate Proxy server on Windows XP SP2 machine. After enabling Firewall, proxy service didn't work, any one can help me to open proxy server port on Windows Firewall.

Regards,
Muhammad Tayyab

In my brief bit of research it looks as if Wingate Proxy has to have port 80 open to function properly. First thing to do is to ensure you aren't blocking port 80.

Next thing you can do, is add the WinProxy program to the Firewall as a program that is allowed to access the internet. This should allow it to properly redirect all incoming and outgoing traffic to the correct addresses.

If that fails, then you may have to manually open port 80 for access. However, I would wait to see who else can add more to this post prior to that. By default port 80 should be allowed access to the web, so I tend to think that it is just the Winproxy service that is being blocked here.

Thank you for your response, these all tasks which you mentioned I have performed already but proxy is not working, actually only NAT works, but when I add proxy in Tools->Internet Options->Connections->LAN Settings then it does not work. Any Ideas.?

Muhammad Tayyab
